The support of the school counselor can be very helpful to a student victim of sexual assault. Many victims worry about how their family and/or friends will react. It is important to let the student know right away that you care and want to help. This interactive workshop will provide important information for teachers, counselors, or anyone who works with youth.

The following will be covered:

  •  The Dynamics of Sexual Assault
  • Myths and Facts
  • NJ Sexual Assault Statutes
  • NJ Mandatory Law
  • NJ Age of Consent
  • The Nature of Consent,
  • Date Rape
  • School protocol (for a minor disclosing sexual assault to school personnel)

The cost for the workshop is $20.00 which may be paid by cash or check. If paying by check please make the check payable to Friends of Somerset County Youth, a 501 (c) 3 Organization. To register contact Gretchen Craig at gcraig@co.somerset.nj.us .
