Healthier Somerset Project Manager

Healthier Somerset is a diverse coalition of nonprofit organizations, government, business, schools, healthcare providers, and faith-based organizations whose mission is to improve the health and well-being for all who live and work in Somerset County. Founded in 2010, Healthier Somerset exists to:



Position


The Project Manager reports directly to the RWJUH Somerset Director of Community Health and indirectly to the Healthier Somerset Advisory Board.  The Project Manager is responsible for building and sustaining a highly effective non-profit comprehensive community health coalition by encouraging broad community participation; communicating internally and to the broader public; and guiding an effective internal structure.  He/she must attend Board and Coalition meetings.


Role of Project Manager


  1. Alignment of the goals of Healthier Somerset with the findings of the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and Improvement Plan (CHIP) to meet regulatory obligations for the hospital, local health agencies and their partners.
  2. Ensure the development and implementation of strategic plans for committees and coalition by monthly contact or as needed with the committee chairs.
  3. Validate and provide structure and resources (websites, contacts, information, suggestions/guidance, etc.) for Healthier Somerset committees.
  4. Demonstrate measurable impact toward goals, of each committee and of the Coalition overall, by monthly documentation and reporting of progress to the RWJUH Somerset Director of Community Health.
  5. Foster collaboration and participation by members and prospective members for meetings/programs.
  6. Increase public awareness of the activities of Healthier Somerset through web development, attendance at meetings, programs and seminars, as a representative of Healthier Somerset as directed.
  7. Support further development of the Healthier Somerset website by working with the webmaster and coalition members to develop appropriate content and formats.
  8. Investigate additional sources of funding and provide necessary documentation as needed for grant applications, etc.
  9. Other duties as assigned by the RWJUH Somerset Director and the Healthier Somerset Advisory Board.
